As well as his Olympian feats, the German skier also has a track record of an amazing 35 top ten finishes in World Cup races and seven appearances at the Alpine World Championships.
Despite his retirement from official competition, Franco showed onlookers the high degree of skill and speed needed by top flight skiers as he accelerated down the indoor slopes.
In recognition of his sporting prowess and contribution to skiing, Franco was extended honoury treatment from the staff at one of Majid Al Futtaim Leisure's most popular attractions and given a guided tour. Clearly impressed with the snow in the desert resort, Franco said he would definitely be back on the Ski Dubai slopes for more.
