Orascom Telecom sponsored ArabCom's 11th Annual Arab International Telecom Development Summit for Arab States

Orascom Telecom sponsored the 11th Annual Arab International Telecom Development Summit for Arab States which was held today in Beirut under the theme: "Broadband a necessity for Socio Economic development & growth"; and Alfa, the Lebanese mobile operator managed by Orascom Telecom since February 1, 2009 participated in this summit as a distinguished exhibitor and speaker.

The launching ceremony of the two-day conference & exhibition was attended by Arab Telecom Ministers & operators CEOs, regulators, investors, industry leaders, experts, professionals and Telcos from around the globe. And it is noteworthy that Orascom and Alfa's presence and participation at this high-profile summit was more than remarkable due to their leading positions, outstanding achievements.

Through its partnership with one of the most important assemblies for the Telecom industry in the Middle East, Orascom Telecom demonstrates its strategy to maintain itself as a major player in the global telecommunications market as it is considered among the largest and most diversified network operators in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.

Mr. Naguib Sawiris, Chairman & CEO of Orascom Telecom and main sponsor of the event said:

The traffic that was driven to the booths # 27 & 28 where Orascom and Alfa were exhibiting was remarkable and innumerable. Experts, professionals and media representatives, were all interested to know more about Orascom Telecom's presence in the Lebanese market and Alfa's new services.
