Paul Casey praises Yas Island's Links course

The Links Course is just one of several facilities being developed by Aldar Properties at its flagship development Yas Island. Yas Island is being developed in phases with the race track, marina, hotels and Links Golf Course all on schedule to be complete by November 1st this year.

California based and renowned golf course architect Kyle Phillips has been responsible for designing what will only be described as a completely unique golf course in the region, in line with the traditional form of links golf commonly associated to the coastal towns of Scotland and Ireland.

Paul Casey has established himself as a genuine global golfing icon after adding the BMW PGA Championship to his list of tour victories last weekend.

In doing so, Paul has reached a career high ranking of number 3 in the World, and is now one of five British golfers to have ever been in the World top 3. As global ambassador for Aldar, Casey continues to promote his association with the company and its premier Yas Island Links Course under development and soon to be unveiled to the golfing world.

Casey's stunning victory at the BMW PGA Championship was secured with dramatic birdies on the final two holes of Wentworth's West course, moving him into the impressive number 3 spot on the Official World Ranking. It was Casey's third victory this year - including the Shell Houston Open on the PGA Tour in March, and the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship in January.

Casey has a strong affection with Abu Dhabi and has achieved phenomenal success in the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship winning not just this year, but also in 2007. His love of cars and the magnitude of development in the capital city attracted him to Aldar and Yas Island.

The Yas Links Golf facility will feature Kyle Phillips' 7450 yard par 72 course with all eighteen holes benefiting from coastal views. The stunning Andalucía style clubhouse covers an area of 5,750 sqm and features spectacular coastal views and every golfing and leisure amenity that today's discerning golfer would expect from a world-class development.

The dedicated Golf Academy features a private members practice ground, a guest practice ground, a six hole par 3 golf course, dedicated short game practice area, six shaded hitting bays with air ventilation as well as two indoor swing studios. All practice areas are fully floodlit.
