The Yas Marina is the first marina to be constructed as a dry basin and subsequently flooded in Abu Dhabi and is the maiden facility operated by Aldar Marinas LLC, a subsidiary of Aldar Properties PJSC.

Aldar Marinas will manage the projects at the heart of Aldar's waterfront developments at Yas Island, Al Raha Beach, Al Gurm and Abu Dhabi Island.

Many of the berths in Yas Marina are in close proximity to the race track and will offer those present, unique track views at this spectacular inaugural event.

Nearly 5,000 people are expected to view the race from the decks of regional and international vessels berthed in the marina.

The Yas Marina measures 115,000 m2, contains 150 million gallons of water and has a standard capacity of 143 berths ranging in length from 15 to 66m, with provision for additional capacity for the race weekend.

Each berth offers power, water and there is provision for pump out for all vessels in this state of the art facility. A temporary fuel dock will be located in close proximity to the Yas Marina, at Yas Cays, in advance of race week, with a permanent fuel dock to follow.

Full facilities will be up and running by the end of the year, including the Yas Yacht Club. Club car and "concierge vessel" service will provide access to all berths.

There will also be three external berths for vessels up to 150m. In addition, a state of the art retail building will boast some of the world's leading yacht brands, brokers and chandlery.

Speaking on location at the Yas Marina, Paul Lane, Project Director, said:
"The Yas Marina is the perfect flagship project for Aldar Marinas as we welcome the world to Yas Island this coming November. Marinas are a salient feature of the world- class waterfront communities Aldar is building at various sectors of Abu Dhabi coast, and it is only natural that these facilities are run and operated to world-class standards to provide the residents of our communities and visitors to our unique leisure destinations with the ultimate experience."

Todd Jeffery, Project Director, added, "While Yas Marina has been at the forefront of attention, there is still a tremendous amount of excitement surrounding Al Bandar Marina, at Al Raha Beach which will be launched in 2010. This marina will be comprised of over 130 berths in lengths from 9 to 24m to complement the much sought after marina lifestyle which Aldar Properties is offering its home owners."

Due to strong demand for exclusive race week packages, Aldar Marinas have implemented a selection process which includes prioritisation of annual berth booking applications. Applications can be made online.
