The new company, Jinan, aims to lead the way in the implementation of world-class environmentally-friendly hospitality solutions that meet the highest international standards.

H.E. Saeed Ahmed Bin Butti, Chairman of Al Dhiyafa Holding, the group behind the launch of Jinan, said of the new company, "It is our belief that the market is ready to welcome a new era of hospitality management services - one that takes as much care with the environment as it does with its guests. For this reason, we are proud to launch Jinan, our new eco-friendly hospitality company that will provide environmentally sound hotel management services of the highest quality, and according to top international standards."

"In this day and age, people are becoming more and more aware of the impact that human development is having on the environment, and on the importance of keeping this impact to a minimum through sustainable development and eco-friendly practices. It is a fact that many of the measures introduced to conserve energy and water, in particular, also help lower expenses; a particularly important consideration in today's economic climate. Going forward, we will be looking at forming strategic partnerships and acquiring quality assets that will enable us to provide the best possible services, minimize unnecessary expenditure, and promote the vital importance of preserving the environment in every possible way,"

he added.

Noel Massoud CEO of Al Dhiyafa Holding and 'Jinan' explained that there are many different ways that green hotels can act to minimize their impact on the environment, from offering the best in organic food and materials, to preserving the environment through efficiency programmes designed to conserve water and minimize carbon dioxide; for example asking guests to indicate - through placement or through the use of cards provided by the hotel specifically for the purpose - when they require clean linens and towels, rather than having everything laundered on a daily basis.

Other initiatives that can help lower environmental impact include the use of recycled paper products; providing reusable items such as cloth napkins, glass cups, ceramic dishes, etc. with all food and beverage services; installing window film to lower heating and cooling loads and reduce glare; replacing incandescent bulbs with compact fluorescents; and installing low-flow showerheads and toilets.

"As a hospitality management company, Jinan will run hotels rather than develop them. Our goal is to associate the Jinan brand with excellent quality, exceptional service, and environmental sustainability. With the continuing increase in social and environmental responsibility among people from all walks of life across the world, we are confident that eco-friendly hospitality is the way of the future, and we are excited to be at the forefront of this wave in the Middle East region," Massoud said.
