Sharjah Islamic Bank launches health campaign

The Chief Operation Officer of Sharjah Islamic Bank, Mr. Ahmed Saad, stressed that institutions must provide the utmost care for their workforce, and provide an integrated work environment that covers all health and professional aspects, as they are considered the foundation for production and institutional development.

This came during the inauguration of the comprehensive health campaign organized by Sharjah Islamic Bank for its employees under the slogan "your health...your choice" from May 31 to June 11.

The campaign is organized in cooperation and coordination with the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, Health Awareness Department (Sharjah Health Zone), and Sharjah Nursing Institute. It comes within the framework of SIB's internal programs that seek to promote awareness among the staff by highlighting the importance of regular check-ups, as the employee is the real wealth of an institution.

According to the 1st day program, the COO, accompanied by a number of high-level officials from SIB, led employees in taking the medical tests and attending health awareness lectures to mark the official inauguration of the campaign.

Ahmed Saad, stressed on all bank staff to take part in the activities of the campaign, and he praised all teams, government bodies and companies who contributed to the success of the health campaign.

"The ideal investment of any institution is the manpower that we consider the real wealth, and the health of individuals is a major components of society. It's also a necessity for development, therefore, attention to the health and safety of staff is an investment in the community development plan, which coincides with our adopted policy at Sharjah Islamic Bank as a national bank that believes in the role of community partnership"


said Ahmed saad.

From her side, Ms. Khulood Al Nakhi, Head of SIB's Human Resources Department and the coordinator of the health campaign, said "Sharjah Islamic Bank organized this campaign in order to provide a healthy work environment for the staff and enhance the level of health awareness, which in turn leads to improvements in performance quality through strengthening the relation between the employee and the organization, in addition to increasing motivation and production, which is beneficial to all parties."

"The campaign will last for a period of two weeks, offering comprehensive awareness programs that include tests for blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, heart disease, obesity and dental. In addition to lectures and challenges on healthy nutrition, physical fitness, first aid, and balance in life and work, women's health, smoking, etc." she added.

The Head of HR department further clarified that the Human Resources Group in SIB is keen to organize such activities for the staff, which reflect the additional and vital role of human resources departments, to function beyond the limits of recruitment, training and other official responsibilities, as the concept of human resources is more general and comprehensive. It includes the care and the service for the workforce, which is the basis of production, development and the core of any successful institution.
