IBM appoints Logicom as its hardware distributor in the Middle East

IBM Personal Computer Division (PCD) has further strengthened its regional distributor network with the appointment of Logicom Ltd, a value-driven distributor of IT products, as its distributor in the Middle East.
Sameh Farid, Regional Manager, IBM Personal Computer Division (PCD) Middle East, Egypt & Pakistan, said, "Customers are looking for best of breed technology with best of breed service. We believe that by teaming with such companies as Logicom, IBM offers an unbeatable proposition."
With this agreement, Logicom will distribute IBM products in twelve countries in the Middle East region including Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, the West Bank, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Yemen and Pakistan. IBM products distributed by Logicom will cover the entire range of IBM NetVista desktops and ThinkPad notebooks.
"Our reliable and value-adding business approach," said Varnavas Irinarchos, Managing Director of Logicom. "has helped us in gaining substantial partnerships with major IT companies in this region. Today we are really proud to be chosen by a major vendor like IBM as one of their PC product distributors in the region."
Logicom opened a regional office and warehouse in Dubai last September and recently established new sales offices and logistic stations in various parts in the Middle East. This geo-logistical expansion will develop Logicom's distribution network and simultaneously help to further strengthen IBM PC market in the region.
