Dubai Women Establishment discusses 'Leading through transformational change' during Al-Emaratia forum

The Dubai Women Establishment (DWE) will host the second Al-Emaratia forum for 2009 on Sunday, 31st May, as part of the DWE's UAE Women Leadership Program, in partnership with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Center for Leadership Development (MBRCLD).

The focus for the second Al-Emaratia forum will be "Leading Through Transformational Change" and will feature a presentation by Andréa Li-Sai Chimento, Services Director of the Microsoft Gulf subsidiary, and champion for more female diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Al-Emaratia Forum is a key program component of the UAE Women Leadership Program, a unique interactive two-year initiative aimed at equipping women with the skills and expertise required to be successful leaders. Al-Emaratia Forum works to empower Emarati women to discuss challenges and opportunities faced in the public sector from local, regional and global points of view. Its purpose is to develop and enhance networks that strengthen knowledge, experience and skills in core strategic areas such as Leadership and Strategy; Leadership Policy; as well as Leadership and Effective Communication.

Commenting on the forum, Aisha Al Suwaidi, Director - Women Leadership Development, said:
"Al-Emaratia Forum aims at nurturing the leadership qualities of working Emarati women and developing the confidence and strategic competencies needed to perform successfully in positions of responsibility - on government projects and as competent social and business leaders. We aim at developing women leaders who will serve as role models to all UAE working women and who will play an important role in initiating positive changes in the workplace."


Adel Al Shared, Executive Chairman of Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development (MBRCLD), added, "It is crucial to harness the UAE's full human resource potential to establish a truly strong leadership base that will provide continuity and sustainability to our country's development initiatives. In this regard, women will play a critically important role in filling key leadership posts in different sectors and ensuring a smooth transition towards higher levels of socio-economic success. Andréa Li-Sai Chimento is a great example of the excellent leadership capabilities of women. The knowledge, experiences and practical advice that she will share during the forum will certainly be greatly appreciated and will contribute significantly towards achieving our goal of addressing the various challenges and opportunities faced by the new age women."

Key speaker at the forum, Andréa Li-Sai Chimento, has a career spanning 19 years in Professional Services within the IT industry (12 years at Microsoft and 7 years at IBM), and is now Services Director of the Microsoft Gulf subsidiary which covers five countries.
