Managing Director, Richard Jeffery revealed that the best managers recognize the needs of their people and focus attention on creating an environment in which everyone can excel. He said
'Many companies ignore the potential within their workforce which has skills and talent that is often latent. Their leaders act independently believing that success comes from them and them alone. These business units will be behind the curve as the economy improves in the region. On the other hand, companies that realize that leaders at all levels are actually dependent on their followers in order to get the best results will recover quickly and effectively creating a huge competitive advantage'
Attendees were asked to reflect on whether their organizations are successfully leveraging the diverse range of personalities and thinking styles found among the staff. They were encouraged to look towards creating a corporate culture rich in feedback and open in communication with the suggestion that each business unit should reassess where their talent really lies and be proactive in developing it to build a future of sustainable growth.
