The students were greeted by the management and senior technical personnel of Emirates Driving Institute. A 30 minute presentation on Road Discipline was conducted by senior well qualified lectures followed by a Simulator Class session in the state of the art simulator room of Emirates Driving Institute.
The students were then allowed to try out a hand on experience in driving a car in the EDI yard. These students were given driving tips and techniques by our well trained instructors while they were doing their driving sessions inside the yard.
Mr. Tofic Training and Testing Manager EDI said:
"The Rashid School of Boys visit EDI every year. We always try to make this experience of visiting our driving school highly useful and educative to the students."
Finally a number of safety demonstrations were conducted for the students to educate and inform them about the effectiveness of a restraint while driving. The students sat in the 360 degree roll over car to experience a simulated roll over at 5 km/ph. They were also taught how to use the head restraint correctly in order to avoid a whiplash in case of an accident or collision.
"The most effective segment of the field visit for the students was the seatbelt demonstrations in the Safety Hall that consists of a roll over car, seat belt convincer, head restraint mechanism and child seat demonstration. These safety mechanisms will enhance the effectiveness of wearing a seatbelt when these young drivers get onto the road," said one of the Senior Instructors who demonstrated the safety mechanisms.
"The whole experience was outstanding and very beneficial for our boys, said Professor Mr. John Swinney from Rashid School of Boys.
The field trip to a driving school came to an end when the students received goody bags from EDI that consisted of informative road safety related material on tyre pressure safety, seat belt safety, tips for teen driving etc..,
