Social Development Forum to take place in Jeddah

It is highly expected that the Social Development Forum 'From Charitable to Sustainable', that will take place in Jeddah next Saturday and will be inaugurated by His Royal Highness Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Governor of Makkah Region to witness a distinguished presence of participants and speakers with unique expertise in the field of social work and development.

With a list including more than 44 names of Saudi and International personalities with a long history in the areas of development locally and internationally.

The forum will address many important issues. It will discuss the redefinition of partnerships from a different perspective, and presentation of international experience in performance, and how access can reach sustainable development by following regional experiences.

Also to activate a special system for the quality and standards of performance, and local and regional success stories will be shown to be used in our activities.

The Society of Majid Bin Abdulaziz is working on the final arrangement of the Forum, which is expected to draw the local and regional attention through a team of the Society along with a group of volunteers.

Advanced communication technologies will be adopted in the Forum to facilitate the registration of participants and the media, in addition to the spontaneous translation and high-end service in the hospitality. It's worth mentioning that the number of electronically registered for the workshops presented during the Forum has exceeded 400 persons.

In a gesture, the Society of Majid Bin Abdulaziz for Development and Social Services, the organizer of the Forum to highlight the craft products of the productive families under the Society's program 'Rawaj.'

The Society aims to establish the concept of sustainable development, which is represented by one of many programs that carried out by the Society to develop and achieve sustainable development for community members.

Many local and international personalities with long history in social development will participate in worksheets of the Forum. One of the most prominent participants is Her Royal Highness Princess ALBandari Bint AbdulRahman AlFaisal, Director General of King Khalid Charitable Foundation and member of the women committee in King Abdulaziz and his men Foundation for the Talented.

She worked as a volunteer then associated with the Women's Association charity , as well as the Department of Foreign Relations and the relations between non-governmental bodies, United Nations Office at Geneva, has also worked to help nurses during the Gulf War in Alchmisi Hospital.

One of the most prominent speakers also His Excellency Eng. Adel Mohammed Faqeeh, Mayer of Jeddah Governorate, which holds many of the positions including the board chairman of the Savola Group, and board member of the holy city of Makkah, Jeddah Governorate Council member and Chairman of the Commission services and the development of Jeddah Governorate Council, President Development Unit of services and facilities of Council of the holy city of Makkah, and a member of the municipal council of Jeddah province, member of the supreme body for the development of Makkah region, a member of the Central Hajj Committee, Chairman of Jeddah province e-government Panel's.

As well as HE Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Ali, President of Islamic Development Bank, who lately occupied several positions before he was appointed Chairman of the Bank, including the gradient in several posts in the Ministry of Education, the former deputy president of King Abdulaziz University, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Technical Affairs, and Secretary-General of the Muslim World League from Ramadan 2nd 1414 H until Rajab 10th 1416 H.

This forum will also witness participation of prominent media. Mr. Turki Aldakhi, chosen by the magazine "Arabian Business in 2007 as one of the most powerful Arab 100 personalities, and has long experience in media work in various media organizations both within and outside the Kingdom with a number of television programs and columns, which published periodically in the media.

Also Mr. Bandar Arab, Director of the National Program for small business projects in community service unit in the National Bank in addition to his work as a TV announcer of the live talk show ' Saudi scene' on Channel EIN. He has served in several positions including the former director of public relations and business development director in charge of management in the city of Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Humanitarian Services, Riyadh.

In addition to Mr. Hisham Ahmed Tashkindi Director-General of the Centennial Fund, who took charge of running the biggest three investment companies in the Kingdom before being in charge of establishment managing the centennial in 2003.

Dr. Alaa Nasseef, She is the founder and director of the 'Hadara' civilization development consultancy, She is in charge of Advisory Office for the development of the work of the Society of Majid Bin Abdulaziz for Development and Social Services, and had many practical Academic experiences, mainly to fill the post of Vice-Dean of the students in the College of Business Administration CBA, girls section, Jeddah, and Assistant Professor, Department of kindergartens and coordinator of student activities at Effat University in Jeddah.

And also held the post of Director of the Department of Continuous Education at the Faculty of Dar Al-Hikma in Jeddah in addition to her work as director and teacher at the school in Saudi Arabia Newcastle, Britain, and the program director, Women in Technology of the Institute of Higher Education in San Francisco with the support of the American Middle Eastern initiative in addition to her work as a human resource and social services consultant in the company Amintit.

Among the most prominent Arab and international participants, Lebanese MP, Mrs. Bahia Hariri, President of the Hariri Foundation for Sustainable Human Development. Dr. Herman Boudie, Director General of Mackinsey & Co, and Dr Mansour Alsaqabi from the Kuwaiti Ministry of Awqaf, and Engineer Ghalib Alqudah, Director of Community Empowerment Program and the Deputy Director General of Jordan River Foundation.
