Speaking about the appointment Mark Beer, Chairman and CEO of the BBG said,
"At the BBG we believe that networking and relationship building have never been more important, especially at this current time. With the recent growth in our membership and activity of the Group, the committee has looked at ways to continue to improve the operation of the BBG and make changes to the structure of the BBG Office."
"We are also planning for the future and, as a result, two senior appointments have been made within the Group which also reflect the Group's and the community's commitment, and alignment, to the future success and vision of Dubai and the Northern Emirates."
Doreen Cameron, previously the BBG's Office Manager is now heading the BBG Events team, with responsibility for the successful management of all the events which the group currently operates each year, and, rather than replace the position of Office Manager, the decision was made to create an Executive Director role for the Group.
Beer continued, "In order to fill the newly created Executive Director role we approached our member companies in the recruitment field to assist and we are grateful for the support extended. Steve Shore was the ideal candidate as he brings his wealth of experience in the fields of management and training, having spent the last 24 years with Xerox. I, and the committee, am confident that these appointments will provide greater focus and expertise for the Group to support our members, will secure the Group's long term strategic future and will allow for continued future growth."
As Executive Director, Shore's goal is to deliver greater value to the BBG membership through alliances, focus on membership growth and retention and driving the committee to fulfil the objectives set at the beginning of each committee year.
Commenting on his appointment, Steve Shore said, "I am delighted to be joining the British Business Group at a time when our membership has never been bigger or more active and I am looking forward to overseeing the continuing development of our group for the benefit of our members, here in Dubai and the Northern Emirates and further developing our links with the other British business groups across the region."
