Dell OEM worked closely with Google to integrate the PowerEdge platform with Google's sophisticated software algorithms for optimal performance and reliability.

The GSA 6.0 is powered by highly customised PowerEdge R710 rack servers. The R710, part of Dell's 11th generation PowerEdge family with Intel Xeon 5500 processors, offers high energy efficiency and performance and low total cost of ownership.

The GSA, with its distinctive yellow box, is designed for businesses and large organisations. Dell OEM customised the chassis design of the appliance with aesthetics that embody the essence of Google's innovation.

Dell OEM helped to drive specific aspects of the design of these next-generation servers to suit the unique needs of appliance solutions like the GSA. Specifically, design and function enhancements, improvements to product stability and lifecycle management support and offering top-tier quality and reliability that appliance OEMs welcome customising with their brand.

Beyond design, Dell OEM is also working with Google on supply chain management, advanced logistics, customer fulfillment and in-field service, helping Google to more quickly go to market and scale globally.

By continuing to work with Dell to develop this next-generation appliance, Google Enterprise search customers do not have to separately procure a server, deploy it, maintain it, patch it, or deal with integrating operating systems - eliminating complexity and driving customer efficiency. Everything is pre-integrated in a single appliance that is easy to deploy and manage.

"Businesses that require extensive customisation, single-point contact and fulfillment, and high product quality can find the right solution with our Dell OEM team. By combining our industry-leading server platforms with best-in-class design capabilities and supply chain expertise, Dell is helping the Google team immediately deliver a great customer experience."

Rick Froehlich, vice president and general manager, Dell OEM Industry Solutions Group.
