Al Basheer sponsors Al Shahd Charitable Foundation's Independence Day celebration

The Deputy Mayor of Amman, Engineer Amer Al Basheer, sponsored today a celebration hosted by Al Shahd Charitable Foundation for Social Development, on the occasion of Independence Day and Army Day.

Eng. Al Basheer stated that charitable and social societies, spread throughout the nation, and their efforts to serve the community, which are but the fruits and achievements of independence, that have continued to increase over the past 63 years.

The Deputy Mayor also praised Al Shahd Charitable Foundation's role in serving the different strata of society through the developmental and social projects and programs which it offers.

In a speech she gave during the celebration, Foundation member, Huda 'Amarneh, briefed attendees on the role of the Foundation and its social programs and objectives.

She also commended the efforts of the Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) in serving the Capital and implementing developmental projects that are in the best interest of the City and its citizens, in addition to its continued support of charitable foundations and projects.

During the event, 'Amarneh also announced the commencement of training courses at the Foundation's training center, to coincide with the celebrations of the Kingdom's national holidays.

Al Shahd Charitable Foundation's celebration included folkloric and popular performances given by the Greater Amman Municipality Band for Popular and Cultural Arts, in addition to a number of speeches and poems commemorating national milestones.

Eng. Al Basheer, in the attendance of Wadi Al Seer's Provincial Magistrate (District Governor), Mohammad Freihat, and a number of Heads of the Municipality regions, inaugurated the charity bazaar that was organized by members of the Foundation and the women of the local community for the needy and orphans.

Concluding the celebration, the Deputy Mayor received the Foundation's honorary shield in appreciation of his support, and awarded a number of participants and sponsors with shields and certificates of appreciation.
