The workshop and exhibition convened at the Landmark Hotel in Amman last week and witnessed the attendance of leading Jordanian pharmaceutical manufacturers and JAPM members, and leading packaging and printing business delegates,

The workshop comes to bridge present gaps between demand and supply in the pharmaceutical industry. Once such gaps are identified, and the supply of the packaging and printing companies respond well to the demands of the pharmaceutical industry, marketing and sales can go beyond usual boundaries and extend globally. Coinciding with the workshop was an exhibition whereby 5 local packaging and printing companies exhibited their products and solutions, which provided a good platform for networking and linkages between the two sectors.

The packaging sector has been a major receiver of USAID Economic Development Program (SABEQ) attention in a bid to utilize Jordanian talent, innovation and inspiration to the benefit of enhanced marketing performance. The sector has been actively introduced to a series of good packaging and printing practices to enable its companies pass international GMP audits applied on printing companies and to provide the Jordanian market with its products.

"This workshop is expected to train participants on good documentation system, enable them to pass GMP audits related to packaging and printing, and will enhance traceability and decrease number of rejected cartoons and leaflets, accordingly decrease losses related to printing errors,"

said Hanan Sboul, Secretary General, JAPM.

The linkage that will be created between pharmaceutical and the packaging and printing businesses, will establish firm platforms of cooperation to the benefit of all stakeholders.
