The system, developed entirely by Dubai Customs, was launched last year as a pioneering initiative designed inline with the best international standards and practices to contribute to the overall growth and development of trade and economy.

This meeting comes as part of Dubai Custom's vision of continuous and effective communication with its clients and paying special attention to their work requirements, specifically when proposing new initiatives and projects. This will surely keep the clients updated with the related information and requirements and at the same time it will help assess their needs and meet their expectations in regards to the provided services.

Welcoming representatives of the Courier companies, the Executive Director of the Customer Management Division at Dubai Customs, Mr. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, said:
"The Courier sector is considered one of the most important partners to the Department as it offers its services to a large number of organizations and individuals in the community. Therefore, it is absolutely essential for them to be updated with the recent application phase for Mirsal2. It is also important for us to become more aware of these companies' needs in order to provide them with the best service possible."

A sufficient time limit has been given during the meeting for unregistered companies to finalize the required customs procedures for cargo and shipment clearance and also to start their registration process.

"The registration process also includes providing the companies with Mirsal2 training, enabling them to use it efficiently and conduct all customs clearances electronically without having to physically be present at Dubai Customs offices or go through any paperwork formalities. This of course will save Dubai Customs and its clients a lot of time and money," added Mr. Ahmed Mahboob Musabih.

Mirsal2 will definitely be an added value for Courier companies since time and speed play a major role in their business. Among the advantages that Mirsal2 has: allowing Pre-clearances, providing 24/7 clearance services, facilitating and simplifying clearance procedures as well as creating an electronic work environment without using paper documents.

Thanking Dubai Customs, representatives of the Courier companies expressed their appreciation for this system which saves them a lot of time, money and effort and extremely contributes to the growth of their businesses.

Moreover, they have said that this system has increased their trust on Dubai Customs which is considered one of the most prominent customs departments worldwide as it gives great significance to comments and demands made by its clients and strategic alliances.
