Greater Amman Municipality distributes food packages as part of 'Kulluna Ahl' initiative

- PRESS RELEASE
The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) distributed food packages today to needy families in Tareq region, as part of the Food Bank initiative "Kulluna Ahl" to support limited-income families, through the Tareq municipal Zakat and Sadaqat (Islamic Taxes and Alms) Committee.
The main concept behind the initiative is the launch of a food bank that consists of a number of donation boxes for foodstuffs placed in large malls and complexes throughout Amman. These boxes are designated for foodstuffs which can be stored for long periods of time and which do not require refrigeration, like cereals, canned foods, powdered milk, sugar, and pasta.
It is worth noting that the food packages were distributed to beneficiaries at Zahrat Al Basateen Foundation in Al Wihdat Camp, the Young Female Christian Association, and Kherbet Al Souk Ladies Society this year. This took place in cooperation with the Jordanian Food Bank, under the umbrella of the Jordanian Alliance Against Hunger (JAAH), in accordance with a partnership agreement between GAM and the "Kulluna Ahl" initiative and the JAAH.
