Students were also given training in developing a career plan and approaching their job search. In support of the initiative, Dr. Ahmed Ankit, Vice President for External Relations and Cultural Affairs at AUST, said:
"The University is aware of the difficulty students are having securing employment in these tough economic times. That is why it is providing students with all the opportunities needed for them to be ready, prepared and motivated to compete with the best in the market."
The university's Career Counselling Center will also run training sessions in writing CVs and cover letters as well as interview techniques to give students the best possible start to their working lives.
Job Clubs will take place monthly and provide students with facilities such as appointment pages, online job search web sites, and recruitment agency contact numbers.
