AUB graduates about 67 medical residents

Some 67 resident doctors graduated from the AUB Medical Center after completing their training in one of 30 areas of specialty in medicine.
Moreover, the medical center now attracts more than 260 top medical faculty, in addition to 276 resident doctors and 38 fellow.
Addressing the graduating class, Dr. Cortas advised them to take their time in the development of their careers as that will allow them to focus their energies on sharpening their skills and deepening their knowledge. He also wished graduates a bright future.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Mohammed Jawad Khalifeh congratulated graduates, asking them never to forget their family's support and to spear-head the fight against poverty and disease.
Dr. George Aftimos, the president of the physicians' order painted a gloomy picture of the world that is awaiting graduates, telling them that a doctor's world is strewn with financial hurdles that include expensive medical insurance plans that are not valid beyond retirement.
Speaking on behalf of graduates, Dr. Karim Farah thanked the University and medical faculty for the excellent education they provided, pledging that he and his colleagues will take their new responsibilities seriously.
