Mr. Abujbara said:
"As a result of this strategy and by the end of the decade, Qatargas will be adding to the energy diversity of countries from Asia, Europe and North America. Qatargas is committed to helping these markets diversify the mix of their energy supplies."
He added that Qatar's pivotal geographic location between the Atlantic and Pacific Basin LNG markets allows for the maximum potential market coverage.
"This location advantage is augmented by the largest, newest and most efficient fleet of LNG ships in the world, with more on the way, to deliver the LNG to any and all of these markets. By the end of the decade, Qatar will have a total of 71 LNG ships (26 Conventional Ships, 31 Q-Flex and 14 Q-Max). Qatar's large fleet of varying sized LNG carriers lies at the heart of the diversification strategy," he said.
"Qatargas will add to the global LNG supply with the start-up of 31 million tones per annum (MTA) of new LNG production capacity through the two trains in the Qatargas 2 venture and one new train each, in Qatargas 3 and 4," he added.
