Traders Hotel, Dubai showcases authentic Sri Lankan cuisine

Traders Hotel, Dubai is highlighting its authentic Sri Lankan cuisine from 1 July until 31 July 2009.
Diners will have a chance to try an array of 35 distinctive buffet dishes created by Chandrasena Sudusinghe, the hotel's executive chef known as Chef Sudu. Hailing from Sri Lanka, Chef Sudu, is proud to present authentic cuisines from his homeland using indigenous mixtures of selected ingredients and herbs, known as Thuna-Paha. Traditionally known for its curative values, the herb mixtures are used in Sri Lankan cooking to preserve its original flavours.
The main highlight of the evening for diners is the steaming hot Hoppers, topped with an egg in the centre and served hot with Sambals and Coconut Shrimp Curry. Other Sri Lankan favourites include Pittu, Kohilla Saladaya, Gotukola Saladaya, Bitter Gourd Saladaya, Mukuwanna Malluma, Karawala Theldala, Black Chicken Curry, Tuna Ambul Thiyal, Lankan Style Crab and Kiri Kos.
A dessert line-up that includes traditional sweets such as Wattalappan, Saudodol, Muscut and tropical fruits are available for diners as a cooling thirst quencher after a palate of hot and spicy gastronomic indulgence.
