The number also represents an almost 10% increase in readership since AME Info's last audit, conducted in October 2008.
The figures show the increased reliance on online news sites in the Middle East to provide up-to-date business information in the region. Growth over the year has centred particularly around video reports, press release service and Arabic site.
Rob Jones, Editorial Director at AME Info, said:
'To see such a rise despite the economic downturn is really pleasing. It reinforces our view that people need a fast, trustworthy and independent service like AME Info to keep up with the latest events in the Middle East business world.'
'In this tough climate, as a business you can hide and hope to get through the downturn, or reinvest in your business to come out of it stronger. We are now in the process of reinvesting and will soon be introducing new services and aspects to the site to help readers in their business lives.'
AME Info has built its reputation on being a reliable business resource with a rich archive, but we are particularly proud of the improved quality of our video stories this past year and the proof in that is the increase in audience.
The total number of page impressions per month now exceeds 7.9 million, 22% up on March 2008's 6.5 million, with an increasing number of GCC and wider Middle Eastern business readers relying on AME Info as one of their primary resources.
The ABCe audit, the ninth undertaken by AME Info, arms advertisers and marketing managers with impartial information to help them decide where they will get the best return on their advertising spend.
Chad Hussain, Digital Sales Director at AME Info said: 'It's crucial for advertisers to have a portal that gets independently verified unique user figures on a regular basis. Whilst the industry is beginning to embrace better measurement tools, the ABCe audit is the first step in having a transparent offering'.
'Furthermore, we're continuing to increase the number of registered users on the site, providing a more detailed profile of our users for advertisers. In a challenging trading environment transparency is a mark of quality and quality is where brands migrate to when times get tough.'
The ABC audit is a common measurement tool used by major publishers of print and online titles around the world.
