  • PRESS RELEASE

Reinforcing its commitment to supporting government initiatives that promote 'Destination Dubai', BurJuman, the residence of high fashion, has announced its key sponsorship of the 12th Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS), the shopping and entertainment extravaganza taking place from June 11 - August 14, 2009.

The mall, which will be decked out with thousands of colourful flowers in keeping with its distinct floral 'summer garden' theme, is playing host to numerous children-focused activities and entertainment during the 9-weeks of DSS, complementing these with innovative promotions and fabulous deals from the majority of the 340 elite brands that it plays home to.

Eisa Adam Ibrahim, General Manager, BurJuman, said:
"DSS is a government initiative that we have supported for 11 years now and by doing so, enjoyed a remarkable boost in sales during the traditionally lean summer period. We are looking forward to welcoming residents and tourists from all over the world to BurJuman where they can enjoy world-class shopping and fantastic family entertainment."

In keeping with its reputation for being the most fashionable mall in the city, BurJuman has been confirmed as the venue for one of the key signature events on the DSS calendar, the Shayla and Abaya fashion show, where local and GCC designers showcase the latest trends and innovations in shayla and abaya wear.

Young visitors to the mall can look forward to being entertained by colourful cartoon characters Mr. Men from June 11th to July 1st and the world-renowned Sesame Street troupe as well as exciting visits from Space Toon characters and Modesh, the bubbly mascot of DSS, who will be handing out DSS goody bags and posing for pictures with his fans.

The mall is also participating in the Dubai Shopping Malls Group promotion 'Surprising Millions', a massive summer campaign, where shoppers get a chance to win across the nine weeks of DSS.
