The biannual event runs from 15-21 June 2009, and brings together the world's leading organisations in the aviation and aerospace industry.

ADAC holds a number of diverse aviation and aerospace assets in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, including five airports, the burgeoning Al Ain Aerospace cluster, and the Abu Dhabi Airport Business & Logistics Park, which together will be attracting the attention of the global industry in which it operates at the show.

The Al Ain Aerospace Cluster will be holding a ceremony and a press conference on the first day of the show announcing a landmark twinship agreement with the bavAIRia Aerospace Cluster, to develop a major aerospace centre in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

ADAC will also be showcasing the facilities and services offered to investors interested in the Abu Dhabi Airport Business & Logistics Park. The 12 square kilometre park is situated adjacent to Abu Dhabi International Airport, the UAE Capital's primary airport, and it is a key initiative in the plan to diversify private sector investments in Abu Dhabi and generate non-aeronautical revenues.

ADAC's Airline Marketing Division will be holding a number of meetings at the event to further promote the world-class facilities and services on offer at ADAC's five airports. Abu Dhabi International Airport has undergone significant development and expansion, with a new second CAT IIIB runway, a new luxurious terminal building catering exclusively for the UAE's national carrier Etihad Airways, and significant refurbishments and facelifts of the other two terminals.

This development has greatly increased capacity of the airport and allows ADAC to meet the high levels of demand that has led to five new airlines establishing Abu Dhabi routes already this year, bringing the total number of airlines operating out of Abu Dhabi International Airport to 45.

In this regard, H.E. Khalifa Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Chairman of ADAC, stated:
"Paris Air Show is one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the international aviation industry's calendar. ADAC is very proud to be showcasing our strong portfolio of assets, and we look forward to making a number of significant announcements here at the show."

"ADAC's strategic policy and expansion projects provide a key component of the wider strategy for the development and diversification of the economy in Abu Dhabi, as outlined in Plan Abu Dhabi 2030. With the development of the emirate as an important destination for international commerce, investment and tourism, we have experienced a tremendous increase in demand for connectivity. ADAC is committed to serving this demand through the provision of award-winning services and facilities, and through extending our full support and assistance to partners establishing their businesses in Abu Dhabi," added Al Mazrouei.

Abu Dhabi is the capital and the largest Emirate in the UAE, both by land mass and population, with 1.9 million residents and a forecasted population growth of more than 7% every year until 2012. A total of $255bn will be spent on investments in major developments in the Emirate in the next five years.

Abu Dhabi's per capita income is the fourth largest in the world at $49,700, and it produces 90% of the UAE's oil, and owns 10% of all known oil supply in the world. It is also a gas rich nation, with almost 10% of all known gas supply.

Plan Abu Dhabi 2030 is the strategic plan for the development of Abu Dhabi created to deliver the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi. The plan outlines controlled sustainable development of the city and the diversification of the Emirate's economy.

About Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC):

Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) is a public joint-stock company wholly owned by the Abu Dhabi Government. It was incorporated by Amiri Decree number 5, issued on 4 March 2006, to spearhead the development of the Emirate's aviation infrastructure.

In September 2006, ADAC took over responsibility for the operation and management of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain international Airports. In 2008, ADAC added Al Bateen private jet airport, formerly Al Bateen military airbase, and Sir Bani Yas and Delma Island Airports to its portfolio. These airports all serve different segments of the marketplace and help contribute to Abu Dhabi's development as a destination for both business and leisure tourism.

Currently under way is the large scale Dhs25bn ($6.8bn) re-development and expansion of Abu Dhabi International Airport designed to increase the overall capacity of the airport to more than 20 million passengers per year. As part of this redevelopment, a second runway and a third terminal have been completed. A new ATC tower and Midfield Terminal Complex will complete the redevelopment within the next few years
