Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi at Royal college opens new campus

The new campus of Birla Institute of Technology, Ranchi (BIT), facilitated by Sudhir Gopi Holdings and the Royal College of Applied Science and Technology (RCAST), has been opened by His Highness Sheikh Faisal Bin Saqr Al Qassimi, Chairman of RAK Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ).

BIT and RCAST celebrated the formal inaugural, held at the college auditorium located in the RAK Free Trade Academy Zone, along with its fourth annual day function.

"Birla Institute of Technology has gone from strength to strength. This growth reflects a demand from the community and surrounding emirates for quality education and we at RAK FTZ are proud to partner with such an institution."


H.H. Sheikh Faisal said in his speech.

Oussama El Omari, CEO of RAK FTZ, said BIT had progressed greatly since its modest beginnings in 2005.

"The efforts of each member of its management, administration and teaching staff is highly commendable," he said. "Together, they have all been an inspiration among educational institutions in the emirate and in the region."

BIT joins seven of the universities and colleges currently registered at RAK FTZ Academy Zone. This number is expected to increase within the year, as more partnerships are being planned and discussed in accordance with RAK FTZ's commitment to provide academic excellence in the emirate.

RAK FTZ ensures educational institutions within the Academy Zone provide the highest quality of training and education as well as top-notch facilities that empower both teaching staff and students.

The new BIT RAK campus is located in a 120,000 sq ft area at the RAK FTZ Academy Zone, featuring spacious classrooms and lecture halls, flawlessly designed laboratories and computer suites. It also features a well-stocked library, a spacious indoor stadium, auditorium and designated play areas to encourage extra-curricular activities.

In addition, it conveniently offers separate hostel facilities for male and female students, exclusive transportation facilities from all the emirates as well as dedicated student visa facilities.

BIT UAE campus provide undergraduate Engineering programs in Electronics & Communication, Electrical & Electronics, Computer Engineering, Architecture, Management, Commerce, a six-year integrated program in Engineering, and two-year MBA and Executive MBA programs.
