Dubai Airports moots central rail terminal
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, June 14 - 2009 at 11:49
Dubai Airports has proposed the development of a central rail terminal in the city with connections to its two international airports through the main tourist and business areas as an alternative to the Purple line of the Dubai Metro, according to Meed magazine. The proposal is being considered as part of a comprehensive study into Dubai's rail requirements, which is being conducted by the US group Parsons Brinckerhoff. The route of the Purple line has led to a dispute between Dubai Airports and the RTA, which have also been unable to agree on how the cost of the project should be divided between them.
