Infrastructure Development MEA 2009 aims to give leaders in the MEA region a venue for networking and pioneering partnerships to develop world-class infrastructure and prepare for an outlook of achievement. The event will deliver the ultimate meeting point for the leaders responsible for building tomorrow. Being a new city, Al Madina A'Zarqa, as one of the most significant infrastructure development in Oman received an overwhelming response from the delegates.

"We are very honored to have Al Madina A'Zarqa in our line up of speakers. Through interactions like these, we get proof on just how impressive and significant Al Madina A'Zarqa is to Oman and what it can give to the economy as well as the job opportunities it can generate. We are awed not only by the size of the project but also with its architecture," Brittany Ryan, Summit Producer, Marcus Evans Summits.

The presentation entitled "Improving Project Cost Structure and Increasing Finance Options: Implementing a Demand Based Method to Infrastructure Operations" Michael Lawrence focused on Planning the Utilities of the City to Face the Challenges of the Current Market. Lawrence has been invited in several events to share his knowledge on the construction and development industry.

Michael Lawrence commented:
"To be able to build a city, one needs all the knowledge and experience he can gather. Al Madina A'Zarqa is not just a real estate development; it is a city of its own and it is vital for the people involved in the creation of this city to be armed with knowledge. Events like these enable us to build our knowledge base and share with each other the latest trends in construction."

Stimulating economic growth in the world marketplace, the MEA region has become an international hub for global citizens. An escalating population, combined with a strong competitive drive proves that this region represents the future of global success. Leaders in the Middle East and Africa are utilizing pioneering partnerships to develop world class infrastructure and prepare for an outlook of achievement.

"It is a real pleasure to showcase the Al Madina A'Zarqa project to our counterparts and to update them on the progress of the project as we turn it into a reality. At Al Madina A'Zarqa we are building a new city which will ultimately be an integral component of the continued visionary economic development of the Sultanate of Oman," said Richard P. Russell, P.E., Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Blue City Company 1.

Located on a natural peninsula, 60 minutes from Muscat, Al Madina A'Zarqa is a 32 square kilometer waterfront city being built along 16 kilometers of shoreline adjacent to the Gulf of Oman. Al Madina A'Zarqa is more than just a resort real estate development; the city is being designed and built to include all the elements needed for a thriving metropolitan community.

When complete, the city will be home to more than 200,000 people who will live, learn, work, relax and play in surroundings that are harmonious with the existing Omani landscape, architecture and culture.

The city will generate large scale employment opportunities for Omani nationals, promote freehold property ownership for nationals and expatriates alike and serve as a hub for business and leisure activities in the Sultanate.
