The program was designed by experts in the field of HRM keeping in mind the needs of the local market. The program included management and organizational behavior, UAE labor law, basic and advanced HR topics and most importantly also focuses on empowering the prospective HR Administrative Assistant/Coordinator with computer skills (complete Microsoft Office packages) and also covers personal development soft skills topics such as goal setting, stress management, mind mapping, conflict management etc. that is essential to function effectively in the work place.
Usha Kaul Saraf, Manager, CMPD said,
"We ensured the content was reviewed by a business advisory council comprising of Senior HR Managers working in governmental and private sectors. This was done primarily to ensure that the course met the needs of the local business community and also that the course syllabus covered all the necessary skills and knowledge that the HR managers wanted their new employees to be exposed to. This I feel is the reason for the success of the program."
Expert faculty strong in academics and industry were selected from the College of Business, University of Dubai to deliver the program. The training methodology used was interactive; the faculty used relevant case studies. Assignments and presentations were integrated with site visits and guest speakers who were leading HR practitioners such as Mr. Omar Al Awadi, Training & Emiratisation, HRD, DP World. Such hands on and practical approach allowed for sharing of best practices with the participants.
Dr. Omar Hefni, President, University of Dubai said: "The up-to-date course content, the training methodology and the faculty have ensured that the course adequately prepares the participants for the work place to make them HR Administrators / Coordinators. The Internship provided for the students is also an important element of this program and next time we will ensure that all students get this facility".
Presently only the best students were selected and are presently undergoing a 3-week internship with some governmental departments to get a feel of the real world and to put to practice what they have learnt in the course.
