Umniah signs preferred roaming partnership agreement with Saudi Telecom and VIVA-Kuwait

As part of its plans to expand its international roaming coverage and offer its subscribers enhanced roaming services at highly competitive rates, Umniah, a growing telecom service provider in Jordan, announced the renewal of its preferred roaming partnership agreement with Saudi Telecom (STC) and the signing of a new agreement with VIVA-Kuwait, an affiliate company of STC Group.

Through this agreement, which came into effect on the 1st June 2009, Umniah added both Saudi Arabia and Kuwait to the growing list of countries under its roaming coverage, enabling Umniah roamers to enjoy fixed and low-cost roaming rates when visiting these two countries as well as Bahrain, Egypt and the USA, whilst also allowing STC and VIVA roamers traveling to Jordan to access these special rates.

Mr. Ihab Hinnawi, Umniah's CEO, said:
"We are very pleased with this step, which serves to support our goals in offering our subscriber base advanced client-centric telecommunication services at better value to meet the changing GSM roaming market needs."

"The renewal of our partnership with STC and the addition of VIVA to our list of preferred roaming partners will help us keep our in-bound and out-bound roaming customers better connected," he added.

It is worth nothing that Umniah's roaming partnership with STC, the leading telecom service provider in Saudi Arabia, began in August 2008.
