  • United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, June 17 - 2009 at 12:22
  • PRESS RELEASE

Dow Oil & Gas, a division of The Dow Chemical Company, a leading science and technology company, today announced its support of the Qatargas 2, the world's first fully integrated value chain liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility.

Dow Specialty Solvent SELEXOL, a one-of-a-kind physical solvent, was selected by Qatargas as the solvent of choice to enable Qatargas trains 4 and 5 to treat natural gas more efficiently.

SELEXOL offers significant value to the gas treating process, including:

• Significant cost savings - enabling a smaller train to accommodate the same amount of contaminants
• Guaranteed performance - proven technology in this application time after time

"We are proud of our participation in the Qatargas 2 project. Qatargas' achievements in LNG value chain integration are a landmark achievement for the energy industry. We are delighted to be part of a milestone project for Qatar, a pioneer of the liquefied natural gas industry."
