Young Arab Leaders announces Steps to Success for Bahraini youth

The Bahrain Chapter of Young Arab Leaders, the foremost development platform for business, public sector and civil society leaders in the Middle East is set to launch the 2009 Summer Internship Programme.

The Steps to Success programme will commence in July 2009. Through the internship programme, YAL aims to help the students' transit smoothly from student life to the workforce with all the necessary skills and tools to succeed. This unique step-by-step programme will assist participants in their search for a job, enhance their interview skills and equip them with tools that would help them excel in their chosen career path.

Students will get a chance to practice these skills by competing to intern in Bahrain's top companies. Students applying to their preferred positions will have to sit through interviews which will be conducted by company representatives. Based on their performance during the interviews, the companies will select the successful candidates for their internships.

Through these initiatives, YAL aspires to achieve long-term impact on the youth who will be the future leaders.

Steps to Success Programme will provide yet another opportunity to Bahraini students to gain experience and insight into how large organisations operate in an effort to prepare them for the future.

The comprehensive networking in the programme will benefit the young professionals and provide them with employment and life skills and help them meet educational, job readiness and career exploration goals.

The Young Arab Leaders Bahrain Office has started accepting applications for the Summer Internship Programme and the deadline for applying is the 24th of June 2009.

The Internship will provide the selected students an insight into the following fields: sales, marketing, media, finance and controlling, information technology, purchasing, logistics and quality assurance, engineering, technical servicing, as well as corporate and business development.

The Young Arab Leaders (YAL) is a network of Arab men and women who have seen the power of action in their own lives, reached unprecedented levels of success for their age, are positive and can see beyond today's difficulties to that vision of a prosperous Arab future.

These leaders are currently in prominent positions of responsibility and strive for extraordinary achievement, and they believe that their efforts today can have an impact on their communities, countries and the region as a whole.

About Young Arab Leaders - Bahrain Chapter
The Young Arab Leaders (YAL), established in February 2004, is an independent pan-Arab organization aiming to galvanize 500 of the most accomplished, results-oriented
individuals from the region who realize it is time to take a more active and responsible role in improving the state of the Arab world.

With presence in other parts of the Arab world, the YAL Bahrain Chapter was officially launched in November 2005 by HH Crown Prince Sh. Salman Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and Deputy Supreme Commander -in -Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force. The Chairman for the Bahrain Chapter is Sh. Mohammed Bin Essa Al-Khalifa, the Chief Executive of the Economic Development Board.

The chapter consists of members who have a track-record of achievements and positive change in their organizations and the society, with the Chairman being His Excellency, Shaikh Mohammed Bin Essa Al-Khalifa.

It aims to achieve even greater youth development in the upcoming years through mentorship programmes and by promoting leadership, discipline, knowledge and skills and helping youth recognize and build potential. The youth targeted are high school
students, university students and young professionals who have just began their career path.

Currently YAL has chapters in the following 8 countries:
Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Palestine, United Arab Emirates, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.
