University students in Bahrain to benefit from Alba's annual summer training programme

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) will provide young Bahraini students with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience this year during their summer break and help them acquire an insight into theoretical and practical understanding of working in a large industrial organisation such as Alba.
It will be in two batches comprising 25 - 30 trainees and will commence on July 1 and August 1 respectively.
"At Alba, we consider the summer training programmes to be one of the most important investments that we make each year. It enables us to contribute in a significant way to the future of the country by sharing our skills, expertise and knowledge with young people, and we trust that the experience will mould them to be better and effective professionals in the future," said Alba Head of Recruitment, Jehan A. Majeed Hassan.
"They will receive training on business ethics and enterprise in action, learn about environmental issues and safety, coached on interview skills and writing their CV," she remarked.
Some of the departments involved in the summer training programme are internal audit, accounting, carbon, casthouse, marketing, environment, public relations and others. At the end of the program, the trainees are expected to submit a report on the processes involved in the department in which they were assigned as well as explain any new points that they learned during the four week period of their training.
Alba has been consistently ranked as one of the largest aluminium smelters in the world and is known for its technological strength and innovative policies. It supports numerous community oriented programmes and social activities that have underlined its status as one of Bahrain's leading industrial organisations that remains fully committed to its corporate social responsibility.
