JW Marriott Dubai Public Relations Department awarded Marriott International Lodging Public Relations Award 2008

M.S. Bobby, Cluster Director of Public Relations and Marketing Communications of Marriott Hotels Dubai and Diana Safira, Public Relations Coordinator of JW Marriott Dubai were recently awarded the 2008 International Lodging Public Relations Excellence Awards for 'Best Spirit To Serve and Environmental Conscious Hotels Operations (ECHO) Media Relations Program' for the United Kingdom, Ireland and Middle East (UKIMEA) region.

The first Public Relations Excellence Awards was organized by Marriott International Lodging to recognize Public Relations personnel among the Marriott Hotels worldwide for their outstanding works and achievements throughout 2008.

"Marriott has a proud tradition of supporting the cities, towns and neighborhoods that we call home, and our 'Spirit To Serve' philosophy which affects our guests, associates and communities is very important part of our company's culture,"
said Bobby.

"Marriott International concentrates its resources on four major pillars which are: Government affairs, Culture, Customer Events and Community Relations. All associates works diligently on Spirit to Serve our communities with SERVE programs which stands for: Shelter and Food, Environment, Readiness for Hotel Careers, Vitality of Children and Embracing Diversity and People with Disabilities," she added.

The Marriott hotels in Dubai are currently playing an active role in 'Marriott Spirit to Serve the Hungry Campaign' to raise funds for United Nations World Food Programme through various campaigns.

"Our pledge to contribute to United Nations World Food Programme has given us the opportunity to serve the community and instill a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment as it strengthens the bond between the hotels and community in the true spirit of the Marriott way," added Bobby.
