The Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation establishes the 'ADMAF Professor in Journalism'

Abu Dhabi Music and Arts Foundation (ADMAF), has signed an agreement to establish the ADMAF Professor in Journalism at the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT); becoming one of the founding members of the HCT Foundation's 100-Club.

The agreement was signed in Abu Dhabi by HE Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of
Higher Education and Scientific Research, Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology and Ms. Hoda Al Khamis-Kanoo, Founder of ADMAF.

ADMAF's three year support will fund the 'Abu Dhabi Music and Aarts Foundation Professor in Journalism'. The Professor will work with other chairs and faculty from across the organization. In addition, the Professor will promote best practices, monitor and improve academic standards, evaluate student performance, facilitate faculty development, and develop relationships across the system and in the community.

ADMAF is a non-profit organization founded in 1996 which advances classical music, the arts, education, culture and creativity among UAE nationals and residents of Abu Dhabi. The foundation concentrates on campus activities, whereby young national students are best able to participate.

Hoda Al Khamis-Kanoo, Founder of ADMAF, said:
"The foundation is developing programs with leading educational institutions, such as the Higher Colleges of Technology. By working closely with HCT, we are promoting young national talent to develop their skills and have productive careers in communications and journalism. We are delighted to establish this professorship and be a founding member of the 100-Club."


In 2007, as part of its 20th anniversary initiative, the Higher Colleges of Technology established the HCT Foundation with a mandate to provide partnership opportunities for both the corporate and non-profit sectors.

The Foundation has added 25 companies who have made significant contributions to its 100-Club.

"The Applied Communications Division will house the Journalism Professor. This person will be a part of a team which will produce graduates with a strong foundation in the field of media and journalism," stated Dr Tayeb Kamali, Vice Chancellor of the HCT.
