Dell stands apart with new Saudi Arabia distribution centre

Dell Middle East has announced the opening of its first local distribution centre in Riyadh today, as part of its long-term commitment supporting the growth and service of the Saudi Arabian market.

The new centre and its operations, which will more efficiently supply Dell spare parts to customers in Saudi Arabia, were established following Dell's SR2.8m ($750,000) investment and aims to add-value by exceeding current service levels.

The new local distribution hub ensures that spare parts needed to maintain and enhance Dell products in Saudi Arabia are available more quickly and easily. Inventory would previously have been delivered from Dubai to customers in Saudi Arabia necessitating a longer lead time. With the new Riyadh-based centre in place, Dell's four-hour parts delivery service is available to all customers ensuring increased responsiveness and flexibility, expanding its current services capabilities. Being able to provide essential support services to customers is a key differentiator for Dell, differing from the competition in owning support calls directly from the customer.

Saudi Arabia is now the first country amongst the emerging countries in the Europe Middle East and Africa region to have its own independent local hub, supplying Dell parts to existing pick up, drop off and field stock locations in Khobar, Jeddah and Riyadh. Building on Dell's wider strategy for Saudi Arabia , the newly established centre will not only service Dell's growing large enterprise customer base, but support small enterprise and consumer needs as well.
