Green Packet is strong in the MEA WiMax space

Green Packet has so far entered into as many as 15 WiMax CPE (Customer Premise Equipment) trialing with operators from 12 countries in the region.

Greenpacket first established itself in the MEA region in 2007. Firmly committed to developing the MEA market, the Company entered into a joint-venture with Saudi Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO) to set up Green Packet Networks W.L.L., operating out of Bahrain.

"This region accounts for approximately 23% of total WiMAX deployment globally and we foresee continuous and long term growth in the WiMax space of this region," said Kelvin Lee, Senior General Manager of Greenpacket.

WiMAX is Greenpacket's strong suit and core business focus. The Company offers end-to-end WiMax products, solutions and consulting services; and undertakes robust R&D around the technology.

WiMax has proven to be an attractive option for both greenfield and traditional operators in the MEA region wanting to provide last-mile reach. WiMax presents the very attractive proposition of requiring low infrastructure investment, which is particularly ideal for the low-density demography in this region," added Lee.

At the upcoming WiMAX Forum® Regional Mena in Dubai, which will take place from 23 to 24 June 2009, Greenpacket plans on a strong showcase to further build up its market traction and woo operators. The showcase includes its award-wining WiMax CPEs and its intelligent Intouch Connection Management Platform (ICMP).

Greenpacket's comprehensive range of WiMax CPEs are field-tested with successfully large scale commercial deployments including one of the world's largest by Packet One Networks (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd,

Greenpacket's Live showcase will feature its award-winning WiMax modems and ICMP to demonstrate session persistence, as well as uninterrupted connection and application usage as users move between WiMax-WiFi networks. This will take place at Green Packet Stand #5 at WiMax Forum Regional MENA, Movenpick Bur Hotel, Dubai throughout the two-day event.
