"The event was the first of its kind here in Dubai and was a huge success with over 250 young professionals and senior level executives in attendance. The response to what we are trying achieve has been amazing. Presently things aren't looking that rosy for a lot of these individuals, who live with the constant threat of unemployment or significant salary cuts. The forum was a great opportunity for this group to meet and interact with others in similar situations on an informal basis. Getting the salient issues out for discussion is a significant step in the right direction, especially for this segment."
These sentiments were echoed by the key sponsors of the event, with Adib Takieddine, Cadillac Marketing Manager in the Middle East, saying, "Entrepreneurship and setting the standard are traits the Cadillac brand has always aspired to. The MONEYworks Young Professionals Evening brings together like-minded people who share those traits and who have either already embarked on or are about to 'Take the Journey' to reach their goals and achieve their dreams."
There were some fantastic prizes drawn throughout the evening, including a round for two at Emirates Golf Course compliments of Acuma Wealth Management, a week-long test drive of the new CTS sedan compliments of Cadillac and three KS660 dual sim touch screen phones, compliments of LG. Other sponsors that drew a large amount of attention were RAK Bank and Dunia Finance both of whom see the young professional segment as a group that is significant to the progress of Dubai and the wider UAE.
Matein Khalid of the Bin Zayed Group was on hand to give a 10 minute presentation on the economic state of play here in the UAE, which was well received for its insightfulness and honesty.
The event is set to be the first of many networking evenings and other events staged by MONEYworks for this particular segment of UAE society.
