- PRESS RELEASE
After celebrating Eid this year with the Muslim community around the world by giving them free email access from any marine vessel fitted with an Inmarsat C-terminal, Inmarsat, the global mobile satellite communications company, yesterday announced that it is extending its season's greetings to seafarers around the world until the end of the year.
Family and friends of seafarers need only log on to www.inmarsat.com/seamail and follow the simple step-by-step instructions to dispatch their e-mail within seconds. With the help of the Land Earth Stations operated by telecommunication companies, e-mails will be transmitted directly to ships of all sizes across the globe via Inmarsat C terminals. Inmarsat C is a technology that allows the maritime industry to send and receive data, via Inmarsat 's third generation of satellites, from ships to any part of the world.
