Abdali Innovation Award jury selects 16 projects out of 55 for the final phase of the award

The Abdali Innovation Award (AIA), one of the major activities of the Ru'yatuk CSR program of Abdali Psc. is moving forward toward its final stages for the year 2009.

After a thorough walkthrough and evaluation performed by the AIA jury lately, 16 out of 55 projects were shortlisted to reach the final stage of the Abdali Innovation Award.

The various projects were presented under the following categories: Smart Architecture, Green Architecture, Urban Development, Open Theme and Architecture & Culture. The 55 projects were developed by students for the Jordan University for Science & Technology and the Jordan University.

The jury was formed of Eng. Akram Abu Hamdan, Vice Chairman of Abdali Psc., Eng. Jamal Itani, CEO of Abdali Psc, Eng. Meisa Batayneh, Founder, Principle Architect of Maisam Architects & Engineers, Eng. Roueida Ayache, Architect/Urbanist from Architecture Studio, Dr. Saleem Dahabreh, University of Jordan, Dr. Hussein Al Zoubi, Jordan University for Science and Technology, and Dr. Rami Daher, Principal (Architect / Urbanist / Heritage Expert) and CEO of TURATH Architecture and Urban Design Consultants.

Following the walkthrough and evaluation process Mr. Itani, stated:
"We were impressed by the efforts and creativity exhibited by the participating students through their projects. We believe that by addressing the Engineers and Builders of the future through the Abdali Innovation Award, we are assisting in paving the way for a new ambitious and open-minded generation of passionate architects and engineers who are eager to induce change positively within their field."


"We are genuinely happy with the enthusiastic reception the Award yielded amongst the students, and sincerely hope it continues to do so in the future. Our faith in our Jordanian youth is what encouraged us to develop the Award, ultimately providing them with the right assistance that will help them adapt to the highly competitive markets we have today," he concluded.

The award ceremony will take place on July 20, 2009, in the auditorium of Al-Hussein Cultural Centre in the presence of prominent personalities whereby the awards will be distributed for each category in addition to a Special Jury Award.
