In his new role, Mr Arkobi will be responsible for the management of Makkah Clock Royal Tower, Emaar Residences at Fairmont Makkah and Raffles Makkah Palace. Mohammed brings over 22 years of hospitality experience to this position.
In his announcement, Mr Cahill, said:
"We are proud to have Mr Mohammed Arkobi as the new General Manager of MCRT. His experience and passion for the hospitality business made him the perfect choice for the post. With his extensive knowledge about the sector, I am confident that he will play a pivotal role in driving the property's growth."
Mr Arkobi said, "I am honoured to be named in this key position for Makkah Clock Royal Tower. Our strategy is to leverage the dynamic business model of Fairmont resorts and hotels, as we seek growth opportunities in the marketplace. I am happy to build on the group's operational excellence with the new property."
Mr Arkobi, who began his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Administration Officer, has been associated with Sahara Airport Hotel, Riyadh, Food Specialist Company, Madinah, Dar Allman InterContinental Madinah, Saudi Arabia, Dar Al Hijra InterContinental Madinah and Dal Al Taqwa Hotel Madinah.
Holder of a Hospitality Management Diploma from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute and a Business Administration Diploma from King Saud University, Riyadh, Mohammed also has Certificates of Specialization in Human Resource Management and Rooms Division Management from the American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute.
In his new position, Mr Arkobi announced the appointment of Mr Nasir Saudi as new hotel manager. Mr Saudi brings over 33 years of international hospitality experience to the position.
Mr Saudi began his career in 1976 in Holiday Inn Aqaba and has held senior management positions at several hotel chains, including Britannia InterContinental London, Porto Carras Grand Met Greece, Dubai Grand Metropolitan Hotel, Amra Forum Hotel Amman, Hotel InterContinental Jordan, The Beach Hotel, Muscat, Dar Al Hijra InterContinental, Saudi Arabia and Movenpick Hotel Sana'a.
