Dubai participates in Asia Luxury Travel Market in Shanghai

Dubai's expanding tourism industry has a strong presence under the umbrella of Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM) at the third edition of Asia Luxury Travel Market (ALTM) held in Shanghai from June 15 to 18.
The DTCM had 17 co-participants in the debut edition of ALTM in 2007 wherein Dubai had 72 square metres Stand.
Mr. Saleh Al Geziry, DTCM Director Overseas Promotions, who led the delegation, said the enhanced participation in ALTM-2009 was part of the department's enhanced efforts to promote and market the emirate as the leading business and leisure destination, especially in China where DTCM operates three representative offices.
The co-participants were 1001 Events, Akkad Tours, Al Bustan Residence Hotel Apartments, Al Fanar Tourism And Cargo, Alpha Tours, Arabian Connections Tourism, Arabian Explorers, Arabianlink Tours, Chelsea Group Of Hotels And Hotel Apartments, Dhow Palace Hotel, Emirates Concord Hotel & Residence, Emirates Oasis Tourism, Gulf Circle Tours, Jebel Ali International Hotels, Jebel Ali Golf Resort & Spa, Oasis Beach Tower, Al Sahra Desert Resort, Bateaux Dubai, Hatta Fort Hotel, Majestic Hotel Tower Dubai, Net Group of Companies, Planet Travel, Tours & Cargo, Rotana Hotels, Sakura Holidays, The Address Hotels And Resorts, Travco Travel, White Sands Tours & Travel, Yasi Tours, and Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD).
The biggest event of its kind in the Asia-Pacific region, ALTM brings together the world's most-sought after destinations, ultra-luxurious accommodation, elite transportation and unique travel experiences showcased for the most-discerning Asian luxury travel buyer.
The UAE and China signed Approved Destination Status (ADS) agreement in 2007 that will facilitate more flow of tourists out of the world's most populous country. The number of Chinese guests in Dubai hotel establishments recorded a four per cent growth in 2008 compared with the previous year.
