The training agreement, which was formalized at a signing ceremony held last week at Qatargas' offices in Doha, will expose trainees to plant and work activities directly related to the learning outcomes identified in the Technical And Further Education (TAFE) Certification program which will confirm their professional qualification in line with the well known and recognized AQF (Australian Qualification Framework)
Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Mannai, Human Resources Manager signed the agreement on behalf of Qatargas. For Qatar Shell GTL, the agreement was inked by Mr. Richard Gort, Designated Asset Manager and Operations Manager. Senior managers from both companies attended the signing ceremony.
Mr. Ghanim Al-Kuwari, Qatargas Chief Operating Officer - Administration said,
"We are pleased to enter into this agreement with Qatar Shell GTL. Qatargas has the experience, qualified personnel, state of the art equipment and resources to provide effective training. We consider this as yet another opportunity to contribute to the development of Qatari nationals and help them to gain valuable experience and enhance their skills and capabilities. This is also a good example of the synergies between the various companies in Ras Laffan"
The trainees will be assigned to various disciplines within Qatargas' Maintenance and Operations departments. Qatargas has well established training and development programs for nationals covering technical as well as administrative functions.
Shell is a shareholder in Qatargas 4 (LNG Train 7).
