Russian Ambassador visits Alba

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba)'s role in strengthening trade ties with industries in Russia was discussed during the Russian Ambassador's visit to Alba on Tuesday, June 23, 2009.

His Excellency the Russian Ambassador to Bahrain, Viktor Mernov, met Alba's Chief Executive, Ahmed Saleh Al Noami, and the General Manager (Metal Production), Mohammed Mahmood.

Mr. Al Noami said:
"We discussed ways in which Alba could contribute towards boosting commercial and technological co-operation with industries in Russia. And also, praised the strong relationship that already exists between the two countries."


He was later given a tour around the different facilities at the smelter and briefed on the aluminium production process.

"It was a privilege to have visited one of the world's largest and most modern smelters, and to see for ourselves the positive impact Alba has made on the economic, industrial and community life in Bahrain," remarked His Excellency the Russian Ambassador.

Alba has been consistently ranked as one of the largest aluminium smelters in the world and is known for its technological strength, environmentally friendly and innovative policies. It supports numerous community oriented programmes and social activities that have underlined its status as one of Bahrain's leading industrial organisations that remains fully committed to its corporate social responsibility.
