The service used to be available only to postpaid subscribers.

Mobily set a precedent in the Kingdom by making the BlackBerry Internet service available to prepaid customers. The monthly subscription rate is the same for all prepaid and postpaid subscribers, giving them access to 300 megabytes of free downloads through email and Internet surfing.

Subscribers can activate the service in several ways: they can either send an SMS containing the word "BIS" to 1100, or they can call 1100 (on net) or 0560101100 (internationally) and request the customer service representative to activate the service.

Mobily pointed out that for data usage exceeding the free 300 megabytes, users will be charged for every extra megabyte of data they download.

International roaming rates correspond to normal roaming rates.

BlackBerry is the ideal solution for those who do not have access to a corporate email server. The service requires no dedicated technical support, and provides the possibility of configuring up to 10 corporate and personal email accounts per subscription, including accounts on Microsoft Outlook, MSN, AOL Mail, Windows Live Hotmail, Gmail and Yahoo, as well as POP3 and IMAP4 accounts, as well as an optional BlackBerry account.

Users can also enjoy messaging applications, such as BlackBerry Messenger, as well as those of MSN, Yahoo and Gmail's Gtalk.

Mobily also dropped the rates on its highly successful Connect Router bundles, which include a compact, integrated modem and router, plus a data SIM card and subscription.

The Connect Router device is both a modem and a router which enables several users to connect to the Internet either through LAN or WiFi.
