The First Sea Mining Factory uses cutting-edge technology from I.E.S. Germany and will implement advanced one-of-its kind Seawater Brines Recycling Technology that will completely eliminate the harmful pollution caused by brine discharges from Seawater Desalination Plants.

The establishment of the new company is a landmark step towards ecological preservation of UAE's marine seawater resources and its fishing industry.

Dr.Sc.Eng. Martin Padisak, Chairman and CEO of IES Germany said:
"We are proud to be the first in the world in Sea Mining, this is happening in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and it is also the first time in human history, when harmful industrial waste resulting from seawater desalination plants is recycled for financial benefit, keeping the balance of the marine environment."

Ibrahim Mohamed Al Janahi, Chief Commercial Officer of Economic Zones World - UAE Region said: "Building up the country's desalination capabilities and water conservation efforts in is a huge priority for TechnoPark. This includes fostering R&D and innovation in eco-friendly and energy efficient technology. We are very pleased to welcome First Sea Mining to TechnoPark. The company's pioneering technology - driven work is the kind of innovation needed in this country to help us develop as a sustainable society. "

Mr. Ghaith Mohd Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of First Sea Mining Factory LLC said: "The technology adapted in the factory is totally in line with the Government's vision for environmental issues, especially H.H Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in four major points namely, adopting advanced technologies in the industrial sector, addressing environmental issues, harnessing the potential of the sea and lastly being the best at what we do."

First Sea Mining Factory will collaborate with TechnoPark, the Ministry of Environment and Water, Government decision makers and the water authorities concerned for the recycling of industrial waste brine which is a by-product of the desalination process.

Another advantage of this unique Recycling Technology is the potential to develop other industries due to minerals and salt received from the recycling process, such as gypsum, table salt, potassium-magnesium fertilizer, magnesium and other valuable minerals.

TechnoPark is focused on Research, Development and Studies in the field of the country's core economic sectors viz. Energy, Desalination & Water Resource Management, Environmental Resource Management and technology driven knowledge based industrial development.

Later this year, TechnoPark will host the IDA World Congress on Desalination and Water Reuse 2009. The event, expected to attract global experts from around the world will include among other things, technical programs, a huge exhibition and discussions on the most advanced desalination and water conservation technologies available in the world.
