TAG-College celebrates first graduation

Under the patronage of HE Prof. Dr. Walid Maani, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Talal Abu-Ghazaleh College of Business (TAG-College) - German Jordanian University (GJU) celebrated on June 25, 2009 the graduation of its first Masters patch at the Royal Cultural Center.

Attending the ceremony were Dr. Khalid Toukan Chairman of Jordan Nuclear Energy Commission, Dr. Labib Khadra, President of the GJU, Dr. Talal Abu-Ghazaleh, Head of the TAG-College Advisory Board, in addition to high ranking officials, academics and the students' relatives.

In his opening remarks, HE Maani congratulated the graduates for their remarkable achievements in the different specializations.

"You are equipped with the necessary weapons of knowledge to encounter all challenges in your professional life; thus, utilize it wisely to be the assets of development for your own benefit and your country's," he added.

HE Maani addressed the graduates saying, "You are the leaders of the future and we are in need of administrative leaders who enjoy high level skills, efficiency and keenness on national responsibility."

In his keynote remarks Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh congratulated graduates and their families and stressed on the success of the College which was established as a result of the joint partnership between the Jordanian and German governments in 2005 upon the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II.

Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh commended the high educational level of the College thanking the Academic staff for their role in providing the graduates with the highest level of education and knowledge to face the world with confidence and contribute to its development and progress.

"Three days ago, I delivered the opening remarks at the graduation ceremony of more than 6000 students at the Shenyang Normal University, which is designated by China's Ministry of Education as a key university supporting the Chinese language teaching," he said.

"Though our College has been recently established, it was agreed upon to establish a center for Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization and another one for the TAG- College at the campus of Shenyang Normal University and to conduct joint academic programs and courses," Dr. Abu-Ghazaleh continued.

On the other hand, Dr. Khadra addressed the graduates saying, "You will be the best ambassadors for the College wherever you are due to the high academic level you enjoy. We are so confident that you will always be exceptional individuals and professionals."

On behalf of the graduates, Ms. Marah Al Abwah extended her thanks and appreciation to Mr. Abu-Ghazaleh for giving them the opportunity to achieve their academic goals stressing that the knowledge obtained by the College's academics will be intelligently used in their professional careers.

At the end ceremony, Dr. Maani handed the certificates to graduates, while students with outstanding performance received the College shield in addition to financial prizes.

Talal Abu-Ghazaleh College of Business (TAG-College) was established in 2006 to offer high quality business programs. It is the first college of its kind to represent a partnership between the private and the public sectors in the Arab world. This unique partnership brings the business expertise of Talal Abu-Ghazaleh Organization (TAG-Org) to the academic world of the German Jordanian University (GJU).
