The centre, which replaces an earlier facility that was housed within Chubb's warehouse, now has its own dedicated area located behind the warehouse.
It contains specialised drying equipment for use after the fire extinguishers being serviced and cleaned; an enclosed Powder Filling room, where the cylinders are refilled with fire suppressing Dry Chemical Powder (DCP), and which contains a filtered exhaust system to ensure that the powder is not exposed to the environment; and a special area devoted to pressure testing the DCP-filled cylinders.
Mr. Rami Al-Batrawi, General Manager of IGTC-Chubb Fire Qatar, explained that the new centre will allow the company to offer even better service to its many customers.
"Over the years we have built up an enviable reputation for our expertise in the provision and maintenance of fire prevention equipment. This centre offers more room for the storage of spare parts, and specialised areas dedicated to individual processes within the overall refurbishment of fire extinguisher cylinders, with a much greater capacity for the throughput of serviced units. It means we are fully equipped to handle the ever-growing levels of business that we are already witnessing and that we expect in the years to come,"he said.
