Land transactions in Dubai top Dhs369.78m

The total value of land transactions in Dubai today June 29, 2009 peaked at Dhs369.78m, of which sales exceeded Dhs159.19m.

The total value of mortgages during the period was Dhs210.58m, according to the Land Department.

A total of 13 sale transactions were registered with the Department by the end of the day, the most valuable of which was a plot in Emirates Hills First that was sold for Dhs5.05m. The next two most prominent sales saw a second plot in Ranches acquired for the sum of Dhs4.225m and another in Ranches for Dhs3.2m.

The Ranches area was the most active in terms of the day's sales, with some 6 transactions. Al Bada followed it with 1 sales.

During the period, Ranches recorded the highest turnover by value, at Dhs17.39m, followed by the Emirates Hills First area, Dhs5.05m, and Nad Al Hamar area, Dhs3.09m.

The biggest area sold was the 17170 sq ft in the Nad Al Hamar area, which went for Dhs3.09m. A 15718 sq ft plot in the Ranches Area was acquired for Dhs2.67m, while 14024.41 sq ft of Emirates Hills First was disposed of for Dhs5.05m.

During the period under review 26 mortgages worth Dhs179.24m were registered, the most significant of which as the Dhs120m for an area at Mankhool. There was another for Dhs20.8m on an area in Mankhool.

Apartments and villas in freehold areas witnessed the registration of 90 sales transaction out of which 80 were for apartments for a total of Dhs88.74m and 10 for villas at a total sum of Dhs17.03m.

A total of 13 mortgages for Dhs17.58m were registered on villas and apartments.
