Knowledge Horizon launches 'Youth Leadership Programme'

"Our children are the leaders of tomorrow; they're our future and because of this Knowledge Horizon is taking a special interest in young learners. We all have a responsibility to help our youth become more active and productive members of the community,"

says Knowledge Horizon Oman's General Manager, Abeer Al Jasim.

"With this in mind, we've created a unique summer programme for young people starting in July this year. It's called the 'Youth Leadership Programme' and encourages and develops leadership skills in 14-18 year olds; skills that will help guide them through life and meet the challenges not just of today but also of tomorrow," she adds.

The Knowledge Horizon GM continues, "We've worked with international experts to prepare the course materials for this Youth Leadership Programme and to maximize their impact there'll be a focus on active learning; the course tutors will employ a variety of delivery methods including interactive lectures and role play as well as group and individual projects. A learning environment which captures the youngsters' imagination and engages them fully, is essential for a significant and meaningful learning experience."

Al Jasim goes on to explain that Knowledge Horizon is certainly experienced in the delivery of leadership trainin being co-founder and manager of the Leadership Excellence Applied Diploma, or LEAD Programme, as it is known.

The LEAD Programme is a joint venture between UAE's Al Dar Properties, University of Cambridge International Examinations and Knowledge Horizon and has been developed specifically to meet the strategic requirements and challenges of the region's business and social environment. It nurtures the leaders of tomorrow and fosters management expertise of the highest standard and has an important role to play in the Emiratisation process. The LEAD Programme has welcomed guest speakers of the caliber of Tom Peters and Gary Hamel.
