Kalaam Telecom appoints Suleiman Maani as new CEO

Kalaam Telecom, the island's first alternative telecom operator, has appointed Suleiman Maani as its new CEO.

Nezar Al Sair. Kalaam's Managing Director, made the announcement affirming Maani to head up the company's operations in the Middle East.

Maani has more than twenty years of strategic and operational experience in various sectors, including Telecommunication and IT, with special expertise in managing start-ups, building a state-of-the-art operation and facilitating success in organizations.

Previously, as the CEO for Itisaluna, a national telecom operator in Iraq, Maani was instrumental in building and launching the first national CDMA 3G operator covering the whole country.

He has also been the CEO of New Generation Telecommunications Company (Xpress), a Digital Trunking Telecom Operator in Jordan. Xpress later became the first telecom operator in the Mena region to launch full telecommunication services, including Telephony, Dispatch, GPS, Data, and VAS, based on Motorola's iDEN technology.

A Master's degree holder in Construction Engineering Management from Oregon State University in the United States, Maani has been looking forward to his new role at Kalaam, taking reins in the beginning of June this year.
